A Short Trip Across the River

From Council Bluffs, Katie’s Kennel is a straight shot over the Missouri. I-29 north, I-680 west, off at North 60th, and you are at our gate in about 20 minutes. We are a family run boarding boutique spread across two neighboring properties in north Omaha, close enough to be easy and far enough out to have real green space for the dogs to run on.

Crossing a state line to board your dog only makes sense if what is waiting on the other side is better. Ours is a small operation on purpose: four group play sessions a day, fenced yards at both buildings, and owners who live between them. One of the two ways over runs right past Eppley Airfield, so a morning drop-off and a midday flight fit into the same trip. And if your weekends run through Lake Manawa or the Loess Hills trails, your dog is already used to this much time outside.

About 20 to 25 minutes from Bellevue

Straight up the Kennedy Freeway (US-75) and then west to North 60th Street. Around 17 miles door to door, with no gravel and no guesswork at the end.

Both locations sit one driveway apart in north Omaha. Tiny Town, 9038 N 66th St. Big City, 6512 Garvin St. Omaha, NE 68152.

Why Choose Katie’s Kennel?

Four things that separate this from the kennel down the road.

Owners On-Site

Josh and Katie Leno own Katie’s Kennel and live on the property, right between both buildings. Someone who owns the place is here every single day.

Boarding Since 2011

Nearly fifteen years of Omaha dogs, which means we know what a first night away looks like and how to make it a short one.

Small Groups,
Big Yards

35,000 square feet of fenced green space at Tiny Town and 10,000 at Big City, with a guest list we keep deliberately short at both.

One Trip, Everything Handled

Medication, feeding, an exit bath, even the ride if you need it. Cross the river once and the rest is taken care of.

“Katie’s is the best. Raider likes coming for his mini vaca. He is healthy, happy and tired when he comes home. Awesome family and awesome staff. Thank you for taking care of my baby!”

— Connie P.

Choose a Location

Tiny Town or Big City?

Both are ours, one driveway apart. Placement starts with your dog’s weight, then we confirm the fit on their trial day based on age, temperament, and play style.

A 20-Minute Trip Across the River

Every dog starts with a full-day trial: drop off in the morning, take a quick tour of the building your dog will stay in, and pick up that afternoon. One trip across the river and you will know whether it is the right fit before you ever book an overnight.
